Description

The conference aimed to open a shared reflection among design professors on the ongoing transformations in national education, fostering a dialogue between teaching practices and methodologies, research, and emerging scenarios. The purpose was to outline possible and common trajectories in order to identify educational models capable of responding to change and guiding the culture of design, professional practices, and therefore their impact on the future.

The discussion also involved the relationship between design and public and private commissions, both national and international, analysing how demands have changed and which forms of collaboration are emerging. Through case studies, territorial experiences, and future-oriented visions, the conference explored current and evolving dynamics within the field.

The conference also reflected on how designers position themselves within contemporary society, observing a broad spectrum of practices ranging from the design of products and services to cultural regeneration, from knowledge economies to entrepreneurial and managerial dimensions, as well as forms of social activation and innovation involving communities, territories, and new modes of collaboration.

These practices are now increasingly intertwined with geopolitical dynamics, as well as with digital tools and environments that are transforming ethical values and the ways of designing and working.
