Abstract
The project aimed to create value for the camper sector by improving the environmental quality of the product. Its main goal was to enhance product quality in terms of environmental impact, both in the production phase—through sustainable materials—and in the usage phase, by reducing consumption. A key objective was also the improvement of the user experience of the vehicle, developed in collaboration with the Sustainable Design Laboratory (LDS).
The Ergonomics & Design Laboratory (LED) contributed through analysis and evaluation of problems and the development of the final concept. Activities included the identification of European standards, user analysis based on anthropometric parameters, and comparative analysis of competitors. Methods of usability evaluation, grounded in human-centred design, were applied, considering dimensional, functional, cognitive, and perceptual aspects, as well as user habits and lifestyles.
The collected data supported a project proposal focused on space reorganization, improving living conditions, comfort, and interior flexibility. Solutions were validated through virtual simulations, including an interactive control panel to encourage responsible resource use.
The research defined innovative ergonomic solutions for campers, within a project for Trigano - Triaca, aiming at environmental sustainability, energy efficiency, and ergonomics. The LDS managed all LCA evaluation and material selection. The result, “Concept 230”, is a lightweight caravan with optimized interior design and reduced environmental impact across its lifecycle.
